02 / Why vapor blasting

The cleaning method that doesn't fight the metal.

Over time aluminum collects oxidation, fuel residue, baked-on staining and environmental wear that standard cleaning can't touch. Dry media blasting is too aggressive — it pits surfaces and alters tolerances.

Vapor blasting suspends fine media in water, so it lifts contamination while preserving the original casting texture. The result is a clean, uniform, satin finish that looks factory-correct — without removing base material or opening up critical clearances.

  • Vintage restoration accuracy
  • Engine-rebuild preparation
  • Show-quality presentation
  • Improved mechanical resale value

STEP 02

Vapor blast

Fine media in water lifts oxidation while the cast texture stays.

STEP 03

Rinse & passivate

The fresh surface is stabilized so it won't flash-oxidize.

STEP 04

Inspect & return

Checked, then packed for pickup or the trip home.
